Why it matters
They never convert
A throwaway address exists to get past your signup form. Nobody reads what you send to it, so it inflates your list size and depresses every engagement metric you report on.
They wreck your deliverability
Many disposable domains expire and stop accepting mail entirely. Sending to them produces hard bounces, and mailbox providers read a rising bounce rate as a signal you buy lists.
They hide abuse
Free-trial cycling, fake reviews and referral fraud all run on throwaway addresses. Blocking them at signup is usually cheaper than detecting the abuse afterwards.
What a “not disposable” answer does not tell you
Only that the domain is not on our throwaway list. It says nothing about whether a specific mailbox at that domain exists — that needs a real SMTP check. New disposable services also appear constantly, so a clean answer here is a strong signal rather than a guarantee.
